I get in good heavy workouts on both Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday starts a three day streak of very productive days at work. My models and simulations and other items come together nicely. On Wednesday after work I walk over to the bicycle store and pick up the mountain bicycle which now has a new chain and rear cluster (rear gears). I can tell how smooth it is just from riding a couple miles home and I look forward toriding with it on Saturday.
Thursday and Friday continue the productive days at work as well as good heavy workouts with the weights after work.
I watch qualifying for the Japanese GRand Prix and cheer when my favorite driver gets the pole by a wide margin and when the only Japanese F1 driver qualifies third for his home race. The mountain bicycle is so smooth and quiet and I enjoy the ride to the pier and back. As I'm riding I see a lady chasing her wide-brimmed hat down the bank of the Los Angeles river. It is just out of reach as it tumbles down and she chases it. But she gives up halfway down the banking and watches as the hat slows down and just barely tips into the Los Angeles river itself - landing topside up. Seven performance points and ten style points! I stop briefly for a drink and start talking with a runner - it turns out he's Cambodian so we talk about his (former) country as well as the work that we do. I give him my number but he has to try and remember it because he doesn't have anything to record it with. On Saturday afternoon I spend a lot of time web programming until Person Ti_Ca go to a Lebanese restaurant for a nice dinner. Afterwards we stop in at a body wash store and I ask, "Are you the store that donates a portion of your profits to stop human trafficking?" The lady gets a big smile on her face and agrees that this is the store. So Person Ti_Ca buy some things and then drive on home.
Sunday starts with a long and hard road bicycle ride. I meet up with Derrick and we meet up with three other riders who are pretty fast. We have to cut this ride a bit short because of the Long Beach marathon. But it is a good hard ride and my legs are very tired for most of the day. After a shower I watch my favorite driver romp home for a win while the championship leader does not score. And the Japanese driver finishes third in front of a massively supportive crowd. Sunday afternoon is spent working on some work programming and just having a slow day.
The week of work is a blah because there are certain tasks that I don't really want to do. Thus I put them off to the bottom of the priority list. On the other hand I work on a cost estimating process and my boss is excited when I show him the GUI and the pictures and the process. He says that we have to show it to his boss and his boss. Thursday is a day full of meetings from 9 am until quitting time - another unproductive day. The heavy workouts are very productive as I've separated the push and pull muscle groups. But by Thursday night a number of joints and tendons are sore and maybe I need an extra day or two off even beyond the upcoming three day weekend where I will only be riding the bicycles and not lifting.
On Wednesday afternoon I get a phonecall from Person Ti_Ca and he announces that somebody has broken into his car and stolen both of his window crank handles. They have taken nothing else - not even money sitting on the center console - only his two window crank handles. Either somebody has a Honda Civic and needed replacements themselves or they are now for sale on eBay.
I miss the rain riding the motorbike to work on Thursday and so on Friday I don't go bicycle riding early since there is still a threat of rain. Instead I get blood drawn to check on my glucose and blood suagr levels, drop books off at the library, and do some grocery shopping. When I return home I grab some food and then take Person Ti_Ca to a Khmer restaurant to bring food home for the day. On the way back home the library is now open so we stop in and get some books to read. When I get home I put a claybar to the motorbike to clean it up nicely, but before I finish the weather has cleared up so I go for a windy, blustery ride down to the pier and back. On the way back home I run into Dennis and he stops me and shows off his brand new all composite bicycle. I am jealous and know that I have to get one soon. I finish claybarring the motorbike when I get home, mow the lawn, and start waxing the motorbike. I don't quite finish as I run out of energy but the 11 year old bike still looks pretty good. I grab food and then go home to relax as Person Ti_Ca has gone off to visit his family. I sweep the driveway due to the debirs from the rain and then read for a while. Person T_U calls to go clubbing but I am so tired. But later when I go to sleep I continually wake up in the middle of the night and cannot fall asleep.
Saturday starts with F1 qualifying from Korea where my favorite driver gets second to his teammate and MotoGP qualifying from Japan. After the qualifying I wax the Yamaha YZF-R1 and get out for a sunny ride to the pier and back. Today I feel strong again despite the lack of sleep. After a shower Person Ti_Ca work on homework. Later we go eat Greek food in downtown Long Beach and then watch two episodes of "Modern Family" - the only television show that either of us care to watch.
Sunday starts with the Korean Grand Prix where my favorite driver squeezes into first place in the first corner and romps away to a win and the lead in the driver's championship. I get out for the ride to the pier. During the ride I see Dennis and coming in the opposite direction is Michael, who I rode with a long time ago. I call out his name as he passes and he turns around and we stop and talk a bit. I give him my email address since we could ride together and his group is planning an Irvine to San Diego ride soon. I get in a nice refreshing shower when I get home, run some errands, and then help Person Ti_Ca with homework. Afterwards I do some web programming and then relax.
On Monday I have a slow morning at work but then I get more efficient as the day goes on. When I get home I have a heavy workout with the weights for the push muscle group and help Person Ti_Ca with homework. Almost every joint is now sore and it is almost time to take a few extra days off from lifting.
