Early November

On Tuesday morning I'm just finishing up a run when I run into two of the neighbors out for a mornign walk. When I tell them that I only had about 25 kids come by trick or treating, they both say, "We didn't come to your house last night. All of the lights were out. It looked like you didn't want people to come by. And we saw a lot of kis bypassing your house".

What's going on here? I know that my porch lights were on before 6 pm and I had propped the screen door open to make the place look more inviting (which was no different than previous years when I had about 70 kids come by). How can this be? I don't know how to explain it.

On Wednesday after work I get in a good session with the weights where I've dropped the weight just a bit and worked on strict form. It's a great workout! After downing a protein shake I paint a bit more trim, watched the tape of "Boston Legal", and relax for the evening. I attempt phone calls with a number of people inlcuding Karl (my former tennis doubles partner in Florida), Person M_Fl, and Person C_T.

Thursday sees a good 4 mile run before work and a productive day at Northrop Grumman. I contribute to a number of meetings and finally get to some long-delayed documentation. When I get home from work there's a letter from the medical clinic. It shows that my liver enzymes are back to normal. And there's a note saying, "Will discuss at follow up" next to the Hepatitis B surface antigen test. I think this means that I've cleared the virus, but we'll see next week.

Friday I get out for a run before work, have a semi-productive day at work, and get in a pretty good session with the weights after work. It's a slow day and I need some recovery, so I do the laundry and relax at home. I handle calls from Karl, Person C_T, and Person J_VKPI during the evening. It's time for an early night of sleep for the Saturday morning bicycle ride.

Saturday is a low key day. After the (almost) 30 mile loop bicycle ride I do quite a few little errands and tasks around the house. But there is no major agenda for the day. Just before I lay down for an hour nap I break another glass - this being a glass that Person C_T and I had picked out. Maybe I should get plastic glasses, but I can't stand the taste. Or maybe I should buy stock in a glass-making company. Late in the day there are phone calls with Person C_T and Person T_U as I decide whether to go out tonight or not. And I finally decide to stay home and get to sleep early.

On Sunday I get out for a 5 mile run before reading the newspaper, painting another door, and relaxing around the house. Later in the day Person C_T and person L_M come and visit and I'm able to (belatedly) give Person L_M the Fiona Apple CD that I got her for her birthday. Person L_M leaves and we are later joined by Person E_M. We have a nice dinner and nice conversation. And I'm in bed before 10 pm to wrap up the weekend.
