On Monday the trash collectors have staged a sick-out for better wages, so my trash bin is 2/3 full and still in the street when I get home. So I mow the lawn and fill it a bit more. (The lawn needs mowing about once every 6 days in order to prevent it from getting unwieldy.)
During this week I have strange food cravings. On both Monday and Wednesday I crave salt, so I go to Burger King at lunchtime and have french fries with extra salt. On Wednesday night for dinner I crave something red. "Crave something red?" Yes, I crave something red. So I eat a large salad with tomatoes and red (nonfat) salad dressing.
Person C_T calls and tells me of all of the opportunities that have recently come his way. I am happy and excited for him. But I also lay down the law and insist that Person C_T get tested for Hepatitis. Person C_T has been avoiding the issue, so I insist until he promises to have the test by Friday at 6pm. I send him resources of places to get tested.
On Thursday I spend the entire workday at a design review at Raytheon in El Segundo. I note that they have the air conditioning cranked cooler than in my office and I note that I feel very good throughout the day - the cooler air probably allowing me to dissipate the heat from the fever. I note to call facilities at work and ask for my air conditioning.
On Friday I have more cravings for french fries so I head to Del Taco at noontime and have a veggie burrito and french fries. It seems to hit the spot well. I don't quite the why I have strange food craving slately, but, within reason, I'm going to listen to them. On Friday after work I do some abdominal strengthening and stretching exercises and get out for a 40 minute walk. I am happy to go to sleep early because it has been a long week.
Saturday is a good day. I get out for the aquarium bicycle ride and just get in a reasonable rhythm and ride. Afterwards I do the laundry, get gasoline for the lawnmower, get to the ATM, do some grocery shopping, and satisfy another craving by having lunch from Quiznos. During the hot part of the day I have the air conditioning running as I clean up a lot of paperwork at home and shred a number of older documents. Near 2pm I get out and lay in the sun - the sun is supposed to help remove the yellow color from the skin. I'm kinda surprised when I look in the mirror afterwards because the skin underneath the bathing suit is still yellow whereas there's now some mre realistic color on the rest of my body. I follow up the sun exposure with a cool shower and ice cold grape Kool Aid (satisfying another craving for a cold non-carbonated drink with taste rather than pure cold water).
On Sunday I get out for the aquarium ride and do fairly well today. Later I do a couple of errands, stop in at a Borders bookstore and read about robotics and Hepatatis B, and relax in the air conditioning. Near 2pm I get out to trim and mow the lawn before laying out in the sun for about half an hour. A cool shower and ice cold water and grape Kool Aid tastes good after the mowing and sunbathing. For the rest of Sunday I just relax. There isn't anything to start in on that I feel that I can finish.
