On Monday Person C_T comes over after my run and we go have Japanese food for dinner. Afterwards we walk next door to the Trader Joe's and run into Mr. Williams, a Northrop Grumman co-worker. We exchange pleasantries before we browse around the store and leave without buying anything. We go to the video store and we eventually leave without renting anything. And we hang out at home for the rest of the evening.
On Wednesday Person T* walks into my office - somewhat upset with me. "How come you haven't responded to my emails?"
And after I respond with, "What emails?", Person T* wants to see my Inbox in Microsoft Outlook. When I show her my Inbox and show that I have nothing from her, I ask, "Did you send it to the right Ray Manning at Northrop Grumman?" And this leads to the discussion about two different Rays at Northrop Grumman.
As I'm walking out of the office to a meeting, I hear Person T* saying, "And some of those emails had some personal stuff and writings in them." And this is too much so I start laughing. Loud. But laughter is not what Person T* wants to hear now.
On Thursday I am so excited about being back on the motorcycle after a week off it (due to the rain) that I find myself going more than 70 mph on Del Amo on the way to the freeway and I find myself at more than 100 mph on all lanes of the 710 freeway before I get to the 405. I say to myself, "Take a deep breath and slow down. You're excited to be back on the bike but you don't have to ride like a wild man." So I slow down....a bit.
After leaving work on Friday I mow/edge/trim the lawn, get out for a good run, and relax for the rest of the evening. Except that I wake up at 2am on Saturday morning and cannot sleep. So I start up the computer and read news on the Internet about other palces in the world. I head back for bed near 4 am.
On Saturday I get up and do laundry and follow this with a good bicycle ride (finally) around the aquarium. The Los Angeles river is still flowing quite nicely! After a shower I run a number of errands and relax for a bit. Since Person C_T has errands to run today, I end up doing other maintenance around the house and pull the lights out of the garage (to make way for newer lights). I get about a two hour nap on Saturday afternoon to make up for the lost sleep.
After 9:30 pm I'm headedto pick up Person J_VKPI to go clubbing when he calls and says that he ran out of gas. So I detour and find where he's at. Just as I get to his car and help him move it out of the way, AAA comes along with extra gasoline. So I tell Person J_VKPI to drive to the club and meet me there. I follow Person J_VKPI for a while but then take my usual detour to go to the safer pay parking, as opposed to Person J_VKPI who wants to find street parking for free. And this is the last I see of Person J_VKPI as he is not heard from again. Did he decide to go home? Or to another club? Or was he attacked by a serial killer?
Eventually Person C_T, Person L_M, and Person T_U meet up with me at the club. I run into Person Dario - an ex of Person J_VKPI's. Did Person J_VKPI actually see Dario and decide that he didn't want to deal with it? The club is very crowded tonight, the music is pretty good, and I have fun. There are other acquantainces present, such As Person E_F, Person M_F, and Person F_F, but it is a fun evening. There are a few people who look like they want to come and talk with me but I manage to deter them by holding hands with Person C_T at the proper moment. We stay until the after hours party starts at 2am (with Person T_U staying a bit later). I'm home in bed by 3:15 am on Sunday morning.
On Sunday I'm up a bit after 7 am to do grocery shopping, read the newspaper, go for another good aquarium ride, and read the newspaper more as the afternoon arrives. I'm looking through the paper and see a review of the Frat House - a club that I used to frequent...um...regularly. I can see that it has gone downhill by the review (which follows). (I don't know what a BBW is.)
the sleaziest people you can imagine get XXX nasty. This is OC's sleaziest club and they're proud of it, so don't feel shy.On Sunday afternoon Person C_T comes over and we cook pasta and watch the Oscars. I've never watched the Oscars before and, judging from this viewing, I won't ever again. I've seen very few of the movies that are nominated and I don't know very many of the actors and actresses. I cheer for the one movie that I did see (on DVD), "Maria Full of Grace". But it doesn't win. I am in bed by 10 pm and absolutely dead to the world.
