Due to emtoional confusion and just plain laziness on my part, it isn't a good week. Though I get in good sessions with the weights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I've let fat creep back into my diet. I'm a bit confused with things with Person C_T as well as being less diligent than I should be. By Friday I notice that my lower back is causing some discomfort from the ruptured L4 and L5 discs and the less-than-diligent fat content of the week's diet. I continue to find it somewhat amazing that just a few days of low fat diet makes all discomfort go away and just a few days of higher fat content diet makes the discomfort rear its ugly head.
There is no resourcescout meeting on Tuesday because Joseph and Lisa are both sick, but Ruby and I exchange PowerPoint presentations and have a discussion about the charts.
On Thursday after work I drive up to downtown Los Angeles to meet up with Person C_T for the opera Aida. It is somewhat enjoyable though I enjoyed Carmen more. I enjoy the parts where they roll elephant statues onto the stage and have a fight between the elephant riders. But the elephant statues are only on stage for a total of 5 minutes or less. In the middle of Aida there is a commotion amongst the ushers running back and forth near us. As I look through the door that one of the ushers has opened I see somebody lying on the floor. I hope that it is a case of heartburn (and just an apparent heart attack) as opposed to many other things that it could be. After Aida I make it home and lay my weary and confused head down for sleep just before midnight.
On Friday I come home from work in the rain near noontime having had enough hours at Northrop Grumman. After lifting weights I get out for a short walk and do the laundry. Person C_T comes over later and we rent a movie to watch.
On Saturday I'm up a bit late to go for a chilly and windy bicycle ride. Afterwards I head over to Long Beach Polytechnic high school to work on the robot. A couple of students and I wire up the controllers and crimp wires and re-check the configuration prior to a bench test. It works! We can control the drive motor with the joystick. We have to go back and re-work some things, but we're getting a good undestanding of the robot. As I work side by side with the students and jokea round with them, they warm up to me and think that I'm an okay guy (as opposed to just an old guy).
I leave near 3:30 pm as Person C_T and I go to a home improvement store to pick out things for the bathroom remodel, grab a movie to watch, grab supplies for dinner, and have a relaxing evening. Though Person C_T chose Friday's movie and I chose Saturday's movie, it appears that I enjoyed both of them more. Saturday night's movie being an early 1980's period piece that I lived through. Hmmm.
On Sunday I get out for a morning bicycle ride and mow the lawn. Person C_T leaves as I head out to do a number of errands. Later I get out to CompUSA to spend a gift card that I received froma rebate. Late in the afternoon I get out for another long walk prior to relaxing for the evening.
I look forward to the end of January and the start of February.
On Monday I'm up early to go walk for 30 minutes before work. It's a bit chilly today, so on the motorcycle ride to work it's one of those days where my eyes are tearing up and I can't see a thing. Fortunately, sort of, there's a truck only going 80 mph in the carpool lane that I have to stay behind because I can't cross the double yellow lines to pass it and because I can't see anyway. We go past a CHP officer who is just waiting for someone to go past without enough people in their vehicle to be in the carpool lane. But he leaves us alone.
